Travel plan
- Option 1: Self-arrange, the most economical solution.
- Option 2: Pickup by papa Jean Claude, he will meet you at your hotel and you travel together to mama Aline.
- Option 3: Use travel agent. If you want to explore Gabon's national parks and join our ceremony, use a travel agent.
Option 1:
-
At the Libreville airport, take a local taxi to bring you to your hotel.
Taxis are 300 CFA/km daytime and 600 CFA/km at night. Look at google maps to find the distance and calculate how much the trip will cost and tell the driver the price you want to pay. Use google translate if needed. If you managed to get an online Airalo sim card for you phone, you can also download the Gabonese Uber called Gozem. GOZEM
Tropicana hotel is one of the best options and is about 30.000 CFA per night. It is best to stay 2 nights for the simple reason that if luggage does not arraive, it will arrive next day. The Roma Hotel is also very good, easier to book, but more expensive.
Next, use the bush taxi to travel to Lamberene. Local taxis will not do that. The bush taxis travel from one city to another and link them. All bush taxis are parked at PK8. Local taxis know where the bush taxis are parked. You can ask them to go to PK8, next to Cecado PK8. There are also travel agents available if you want to travel a bit more comfortable. It is useful if you can speak French if you go for this option.
You are looking at 8.000 CFA for the trip, plus some extra for luggage.Location of the bush taxi's next to Cecado
Another option is the bus. Visit SOGATRA for more information. Here the same SOGATRA page in google translate.
Once you arrive in Lamberene you can use a local taxi to bring you to us, or whatsapp us so we can pick you up. We do not have a car yet, so we also use a taxi.

You can plan on travelling back to Libreville in the morning the day after the ceremony and still make your airline in the evening, or you can choose another night in the Tropicanan hotel.
Option 2:
-
Before you arrive in Libreville, let papa Jean Claude know which hotel you are staying at and what day you would like the pickup. whatsapp: +241 06903006
You will then travel together with Papa Jean Claude to mama Aline's village using a bush taxi or their own car. Please reserve 50.000 CFA for travel and hotel expenses for papa Jean Claude when you request this option. At the Libreville airport when you arrive, you take a local taxi to bring you to your hotel.

On your way back to Libreville you can ask Jean Claude to accompany you or if you feel you know how to do it, you can travel by yourself back to Libreville. If you ask Jean Claude, please reserve 50.000 CFA for his travel expenses.
But there is also another option. After completing a full iboga initiation, a visit to one of Gabon’s 13 national parks can be a wonderful experience. Among the options, we highly recommend the Aboratum Raponda Walker Park. Located just north of Libreville, it is both convenient and affordable to include in our program. Also we know of a beautiful waterfall to visit after the ceremony not that far away from us. Click here to see a video of the waterfall
We offer a special arrangement where Jean Claude will accompany you back to Libreville. If you book the same hotel for him as yourself, you can set off together the following morning to explore this beautiful national park. To cover the costs for papa Jean Claude, you will need to pay for the taxi to this park (about 15.000 CFA) and the hotel room and provide Jean Claude with 50.000 CFA for his travel expenses. This way, everything will be arranged for a seamless and enjoyable trip.
There is one more option and that is to visit Chef O'Miel restaurant when you arrive in Libreville, a Bwiti inspired restaurant in Libreville. You are welcome to invite Jean Claude as well. If you do, kindly take care of the restaurant bill. This is memorable place to have dinner I can tell you. But make sure you inform the chef that you want a Bwiti dinner night - and let yourself be surpriced :)
Option 3:
-
If you want to visit some of the beautiful National parks and combine this with mama Aline's program, best is to ask mama Aline for arranging a trip into deep Gabon after the ceremony. This will be financially the best option and also a lot of fun as she with her family will join.
However there are some very good travel agents in Gabon for longer trips or special requests like visiting the low land gorilla's

Day 11: Upon your arrival in Libreville, you have two options: proceed directly to the airport to prepare for your flight, or head to your hotel to check in. If you choose to check in at your hotel, consider dining at Chef O'Miel in the evening. While not inexpensive, the experience is truly unforgettable, offering a unique Bwiti-inspired atmosphere. When making a reservation, be sure to mention that you have recently completed a full initiation with Mama Aline and request a Bwiti-inspired dinner to enhance your experience. Chef O'Miel -acebook
Day 12: After breakfast, check out of your hotel but leave your luggage there. You will then travel with Papa Jean Claude to the Aboratum Raponda Walker National Park. This stunning park comes highly recommended as a post-iboga initiation experience, though it is not mandatory. If you are interested in visiting the park, please inform Papa Jean Claude in advance.

If you have chosen for option 3, than all the 13 national parks are available for a visit. But do consider the fact that after a full iboga ceremony, an intense jungle safari might be a bit much.
